Park County Council for the rts Seeks rtist Laureate Nominations
The Park County Council for the Arts (PCCArts) announces the opening of nominations for the inaugural PCCArts Artist Laureate on August 1. As one of the group’s first initiatives, this program celebrates the creative contributions of an individual artist from Park County. The program will provide a one-time stipend of $5,000 and a year of exposure for the selected artist to share their talent with the Park County community, and to encourage and nurture the arts and creative culture in the county. It will include an agreed upon community contribution for 2025-2026. Nominations close August 31.
Anyone can nominate a potential Artist Laureate, including self-nomination. Nominees must be able to demonstrate an ongoing artistic practice of at least five years or more, have a recognized/acclaimed body of work, which is informed or influenced by Park County, Montana and have a primary residence in Park County for a minimum of five years. Artists in any of the visual, literary, or performing arts are eligible.
The Artist Laureate position is a one-year honorary, community-service oriented position. A community program or project is required and will be determined by the artist to showcase their skills and leadership.

PCCArts will vet candidates and the proposed Artist Laureate will be notified by September 15. The successful candidate will be announced publicly at the Art Week Ceremony at the Livingston Depot Center in Livingston on September 27, 2025 and is requested to be present to accept the award.
